The world's fastest diesel: 43159 on the sea wall at Pwll with 1L82, 1455 Carmarthen to London Paddington on 19th May 2013. On 1st November 1987, 43159 set the record as the world’s fastest diesel travelling at 148.5mph between Northallerton and Thirsk. The record still stands today and is perhaps enough to secure 43159's future in preservation in a few years' time.
